Orion Solutions at FMMS 2016
Orion Solutions has had a great week at the Fleet Maintenance and Modernization Symposium (FMMS 2016) in Virginia. Our team showcased some of the latest advanced technologies coming from UltraTech International that we are working on bringing to our military and industrial customers. Incredible new coating technologies and a battery technology that promise to increase efficiencies and decrease costs.
Gentoo is a revolutionary Sol-Gel that creates a completely transparent, hydrophobic coating that repels waters and most oils and solvents. It creates an ultra-thin (4 – 6 micron) coating with an extremely low sliding angle that chemically bonds to nearly any substrate, bare or painted. Gentoo is a thin and lightweight, yet incredibly durable surface that is anti-corrosion, anti-icing, abrasion resistant and UV resistant.
The next big innovation in welding will be the Tactical Welder, a battery powered, portable welder that fits in a 20lb pack. This is a full powered, professional grade welder, not a hobby welder. A MIG and Arc capable welder, the Tactical Welder has 1/2KW and 300 amps with a battery that lasts up to 3500 cycles. Imagine the ability to just pick up your welder, carry it to your remote location, flip a switch and start welding right then and there. No generators, no leads, no setup.
